Sustainable Fabrics & Wallpapers – Designing with Responsibility
At Bridget Murphy Interior Design, sustainability is not just a trend, it is a responsibility. More than ever, clients are seeking interiors that are not only beautiful and long-lasting but also kind to the environment. By carefully selecting suppliers who share our values, we ensure that every design decision supports a more sustainable future.
Our Sustainable Supply Partners
We are proud to partner with Sanderson Design Group, whose Live Beautiful sustainability strategy, launched in 2021, places environmental, social, and governance principles at the core of their business. Sanderson Design Group is now FSC™ certified, meaning that the majority of their wallpapers are printed on responsibly sourced paper. This certification protects forests, supports biodiversity, and ensures ethical forestry practices. It is a significant step forward in sustainable interiors and reinforces the commitment to creating designs that stand the test of time while safeguarding our planet.
In addition, Sanderson’s printing partner Anstey also holds FSC certification, further solidifying a Group-wide dedication to environmental responsibility.
Another leader in this space is Kirkby Design, a division of The Romo Group. With sustainability driving their innovation, Kirkby Design has launched four pioneering collections—Wave, Flow, Leaf, and Fleck Eco—all created from recycled and sustainable yarns. These fabrics are fully recyclable, designed to be repurposed for future use, making them truly circular in nature. The collections combine style, practicality, and environmental care without compromising on quality or aesthetic appeal.
Why Recycling Matters in Interiors
Interior design has long been associated with luxury and comfort, but it is increasingly recognised as an industry with significant environmental responsibility. Every choice, from the fabrics on a sofa to the wallpaper on a feature wall, contributes to either the depletion or preservation of natural resources.
By embracing recycled and sustainable materials, the interiors industry can:
- Reduce Waste – Fabrics and wallpapers designed for recyclability avoid landfill and extend material life cycles.
- Lower Carbon Impact – Sourcing responsibly reduces emissions and protects ecosystems.
- Support Circular Design – Products that can be reused or repurposed create a continuous cycle, minimising environmental harm.
- Preserve Beauty for the Future – Thoughtful design ensures we can enjoy beautiful interiors without compromising the wellbeing of future generations.
Our Commitment
At Bridget Murphy Interior Design, we believe every home or commercial project should be designed with both beauty and responsibility in mind. By supplying sustainable collections from leading design houses such as Sanderson Design Group and Kirkby Design, we help our clients make informed, eco-conscious choices that enhance their spaces while protecting the world around us.
Together, we are proving that sustainability and style can live beautifully side by side.
